Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Tuesday’s World Cup Qualifier second leg between REPUBLIC OF IRELAND v DENMARK and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

Good night (as predicted) on the bookings front last night with nine yellows in the Italy v Sweden game rewarding the Star Spreads buy at 59.

Plenty of ‘glamour ties’ tonight including of course England v Brazil at Wembley. I’m increasingly cynical about these friendlies and the seemingly blatant commercialisation of them with the actual games providing very little clues for punters with, in the main, experimental line-ups.

Friendlies aren’t for me punting wise but each to their own. Republic Of Ireland v Denmark looks much more juicy from a punting perspective and just like last night I see no reason why bookings shouldn’t be high and I’m in the mood for the same trade as last night.

This game is even more delicately poised than the Italian game last night (and just HOW bad were Italy – shocking, they have only themselves to blame) as it finished 0-0 in Sweden.

There’s been such a dearth of goals that I’m surprised 0-0 isn’t odds-on pre kick-off … I’m exaggerating but not by much. Suffice to say one goal could easily prove a golden goal and send a team straight to Russia.

With so much at stake and yellow cards effectively wiped clear in terms of the World Cup it’s easy to see why it could become a free for all.

Hopefully referee Szymon Marciniak will make his mark on the game as early as the ref last night with a couple of very early yellows.

The ref is averaging over 4 cards per game in 17 games this season so 56 looks a reasonable level to but at. Interestingly, he hasn’t used the red this season but flashed it 17 times last season including three in one game so he certainly isn’t adverse to getting involved.
