A couple of late goals last night in the Reading game but they were too late for the sell of the third match goal recommendation though did at least mitigate the loss.

A full set of Premier League fixtures over the next two days as the busy Christmas period really starts to ignite.

Huddersfield v Chelsea is the televised game tonight and it will be interesting to see how the pampered stars of Chelsea cope with a bitterly cold night in Yorkshire with the possibly of rain, sleet and hill snow thrown in for good measure.

The last time this fixture was played it finished 2-1 to Chelsea but that was back in 1971 !!

Huddersfield have made a much better start to life back in the top flight than many cynics expected but their current 12th place disguises the fact they are only five points off the drop zone and it’s the Christmas period that can change things dramatically. The good news for the Terriers is once they get this match out of the way they have a much easier looking fixture list right up to the end of January when they host Liverpool.

Chelsea, although third, have dropped too many points in games they were expected to win. They now sit 14 points adrift of Man City who surely are now Champions elect? There was no better example of Chelsea’s vulnerability than their loss to West Ham at the weekend.

Head coach Antonio Conte said: “I’m not happy because the last game we lost against West Ham. I like to win. When we lose I’m not happy.

“In 16 games we lost four games. My experience tells [me] it’s impossible to win the title.

“Now we must be focused in the league… we have to fight to find a place in the Champions League.”
