S.P. Read Esq: Manchester United v Manchester City
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Sunday’s Premier League game between MAN U v MAN CITY and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Derby Day really does live up the billing on this Super Snowy Sunday and there’s even more spice than usual with Man City bidding for a record 14 straight Premier League wins. They’ll need one more win though to break the top flight record which is currently held by the Gunners.
The earlier Merseyside Derby should surely go to Liverpool based on current form, so I have to really focus on the events at Old Trafford.
It couldn’t really have been scripted that Man City would seek to break the EPL record against their old adversaries but that fact that Man U are in seriously good form themselves, especially at home, makes this the match of the season so far for me.
Man U manager Jose Mourinho said: “I don’t need to know that a derby is something special for the people.
“For us, in the end, it’s three points but honestly, I think for the people born in the city and feeling the colours, it’s a good positive rivalry and a special match.
“For me, it’s one more big match against one of the best teams in the country. We are a better team than last year. I think City is also better than last season.”
City manager Pep Guardiola is set to make a late decision on the fitness of Vincent Kompany, after he withdrew from the squad to face Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.
Fabian Delph is also a doubt after illness.

It’s set to be an explosive start but whether that converts to goals remains to be seen.
One sobering stat is that the last five times these two sides have met there have only been five goals.
I’m more tempted with the bookings market on Star Spreads and a buy at 56. In such a huge game with plenty at stake for both I can’t see too much downside at that level.
