Man City get the chance to create some history tonight at Swansea. An expected win would give them a 15th success on the bounce and set their own outright record from the one they currently share with Arsenal. Top plays bottom in the table, so it couldn’t have worked out any better for City – on paper at least.
Tonight’s televised action comes from the London Stadium with West Ham playing host to Arsenal. It’s a fixture that usually guarantees goals – only one of the last 10 head to heads has produced under 2.5 goals.
West Ham will come into this on a high having beaten Chelsea 1-0 at the weekend but were comprehensively beaten by the Gunners both home and away last season.
Whilst Crystal Palace seem to be digging themselves out of a hole, it continues to look bleak for the Hammers in 19th spot and they desperately need points.
Their shock 1-0 win over Chelsea has obviously helped and they were unlucky against Man City but the reality is that David Moyes has only seen his side win once in five games and this has now become a game they need to salvage at least a point from.
Arsenal started slowly against Southampton on Sunday – they could (and should) have been 3-0 down after 10 minutes and they were absolutely pummelled by Southampton who flew out of the traps.
Arsenal will be without Aaron Ramsey, who sustained a hamstring injury in that game.
