Uwe Rosler’s Sky Bet League One outfit, Fleetwood Town, put up a gutsy performance against Leicester City team to force a goalless draw in what was their first match against top-flight opposition. To be fair, they nearly won the game in the 91st minute when man of the match Ashley Hunter’s shot hit the post.

Leicester missed striker Jamie Vardy out through injury who would have surely been all out to make an impact playing against his own club and he’s expected to be in the team this evening.

Talking this afternoon Leicester boss Claude Puel has made his intentions clear, ‘I think now we know very well this team very well after the first game, we must raise our game. We want to be in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup and we need to make a strong game against this team. Now we have the chance to play at home and it is important to put it right for the second game. It is important to play these games and to give our best, It’s an important competition. The FA Cup is a tradition in England.’

Fleetwood Town have been undaunted by an away leg replay previously in the FA Cup beating Hereford 2-0 after being held to a 1-1 at home. This is a totally different proposition playing a Leicester side who still have the confidence bestowed on a team who won the Premier League.

Manager Uwe Rosler appears to fear the worst with quotes on the team’s website as saying: ‘You go there with energy and will to make something unbelievable things happen. We just want to make the supporters proud with our performance.’

If he thinks beating a Leicester City side that clearly mean business is ‘unbelievable’ then he’s probably right.
