S.P. Read Esq: Spurs v Man U
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Wednesday’s Premier League game between SPURS v MAN U and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Spurs v Man U looks a much tough call tonight.
Both sides are on decent unbeaten runs but it’s United’s five match winning run without conceding that stands out.
Spurs have drawn their last two games 1-1 and were particularly poor against Newport in the FA Cup – Harry Kane eventually sparing the blushes after 82 minutes with his equaliser.
Alexis Sanchez is expected to be handed his first Premier League start for Man U and manager Jose Mourinho has a strong pack of cards to shuffle with only Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly missing through injury.
Spurs also will be boosted with the news that hristian Eriksen, Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Danny Rose are all back from injury.
Their manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “It is so important to win games, to be close and to have the possibility to fight to the end.
“I don’t think the key to the top four is to win tonight or to win Sunday. But yes it is so important to put yourself in a good position in the table and in the end be there.”
In many ways a DRAW (12/5 with Star Sports) seems a likely option but it doesn’t really help either side that much. Man U still need to cling to the belief that they can win the title and Man City slip up. It’s a colossal ‘if’ but if WBA beat City tonight and Man U win here the gap is down to nine points which, with 25 games played, is surely still worth fighting for?
Tottenham still have a gap to close themselves, they are five points off Liverpool and getting into the top four so a point doesn’t really do it for them either.
