Depleted Premier League fixture list today with the FA Cup Quarter Finals also taking place so the only televised game comes from Anfield at 5.30pm as Liverpool play host to Watford.

Goals should flow as freely as Gordon Elliott trained winners at Cheltenham this week if the head to head stats are to be believed.

There were six goals when the two sides met at Vicarage Road at the beginning of the season with honours shared at 3-3 thanks to the 90th minute equaliser from Miguel Britos.

This same fixture finished 6-1 to Liverpool last season and the odds today suggest a similar Liverpool walk-over is anticipated with the hosts heavily odds-on.

The recipe tonight has few ingredients – Liverpool are rock solid at home and haven’t lost a league game all season whilst Watford are abysmal on the road with just one point from their last eight away games. Simmer the bet for 90 minutes and hey presto.

Watford’s head coach Javi Gracia said: “If we play an open game against Liverpool, we have a lot of chances to lose the game.

“So we need to have a balance to be able to defend, but we need to attack as well – if you play this match only thinking about defending, you are going to lose for sure.”

Liverpool have only lost one of their last eight games against Watford and should triumph again, even though they looked a little subdued against Man U last week. Captain Jordan Henderson could well be back having been on the bench for the Man U game.

A nice profit midweek with the sell of the first match goal in the Barcelona v Chelsea game and I’m hopeful of another early strike today and am selling the time of the first match goal at 27 minutes with Star Spreads.
