S.P. Read Esq: DENMARK v WALES
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the UEFA Nations League game on Sunday between DENMARK v WALES and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Earlier this week, it looked as if a Welsh win on Sunday was a certainty. A dispute between the DFA and players over commercial rights meant that they fielded a fourth string team against Slovakia in midweek which included a student, a salesman and internet star. They lost that game 3-0 but Wales will face a full-strength Denmark in the Nations League after the Danish FA and their top players agreed to talks over a commercial rights dispute.
However, that should not put off this Welsh side. Ryan Giggs made the perfect start to management with a 4-0 win over Ireland and whilst this game will be much more difficult, the visitors have plenty of weapons to utilise. There were great performances from star names Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale, but young sensation Ethan Ampadu had an integral role and Chris Mepham and Connor Roberts also laid claims for many more appearances in a red shirt.
One should not forget that also in the Welsh side were Tottenham’s Ben Davies and long-time stalwart Joe Allen, both of whom started well, and there’s enough quality in this outfit to go toe to toe with the best.
Denmark can boast stars of their own too, namely Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen, and their World Cup campaign was a respectable one where they went out on penalties in the Round of 16 to the eventual runners-up Croatia.
All four of Denmark’s games at the World Cup ended in draws and they had a softer route through to the finals than Wales, who were in a tough section that did include Ireland as well as Serbia.
