Final Euro Thoughts

Well England did alright in the end. We won the group and no-one can complain after we went out on penalties to the better team.

This is the second major tournament when the England top goalscorer prize has been shared by several players who scored a single solitary goal. We have load of players who score a goal every 2 games for England.

If only we had an international striker with a couple of dozen internationals under his belt who scores a whole goal a game and other teams find difficult to defend. Hang on what about the Crouch? Ignored again. I reckon if we take a chance on him he would do us proud.

Oh well it’ll probably never happen. Well the final is Spain v Italy both victors in penalty shootouts. Incredibly this would be Spain’s third major tournament victory in a row – unbelievable and I reckon lovers of the beautiful game would want them to succeed.

The premier league may well produce the top goalscorer with super Mario Baliotelli tied on 3 with several others out of the competition which, whilst it’s hardly Jesse Owens, will stick in the craw of any Eastern European racists we keep reading about in the papers.

Oh well the bore draws are coming now so let’s hope we don’t get one in the final.
