Olympic Q and A at the Half Way Mark
Here’s a few topical Olympic Q and As that I do not have the expertise to answer with a convincing and in depth reply but I’ll have a crack anyway.
Q.Was the Opening Ceremony Brilliant?
A. Started slowly and a bit twee but grew into an epic. My favourite was the parachuting Queen, fairdos to her Majesty.
Q. Is Michael Phelps the greatest ever Olympian now he’s got the record medals haul?
A. No Jessie Owens and Steve Redgrave for mine.
Q. Should Oscar Pistorius be allowed to run in the Olympics with his “bionic” legs?
A. Yes the line hasn’t been crossed yet though that day will come I’m sure.
Q. Should the match-throwing badminton girls have got thrown out?
A. Yes punters paid good money to watch top class action.
Q. Why is Team GB so good at sitting down sports?
A. Don’t know.
Q. Why did Mark Cavendish think it was unusual that the other teams didn’t want him to win?
A. Don’t know – it might seem unfair to him but why play into his hands?
Q. Will Andy Murray fall at the last hurdle again?
A. Yes but I hope I’m wrong. Part of me thinks he’s a bottler but he is in the era of several all-time great tennis players and as it was pointed out to me if a few of them fall by the wayside he could end up with an armload of major titles.
Q. What events have I got any chance of winning a medal in now?
A. Archery is all I can think of.
Q. Would I be the heaviest Olympian at 19 stone?

Q. Why were there so many empty seats in the first week of the Olympics?
A. Greed and incompetence.

A. Yes.
Q. Where will Team GB come in the medals tables?
A. 3rd
Q. Which Gold Medal holder will win BBC Sports Personality of the Year?
A. Sir Wiggo undoubtedly.
Q. Do I think Ye Shiwen the 16 year old Chinese swimmer is on drugs?
A. No but China has previous so there will always be a cloud hanging over her.
Q. Will Brazil win the Men’s Footy gold?
A. Hope not – we laid a chunk of them on the 100 Index
Q. What am I most looking forward to?
A. Stock answer: the 100m Men’s Final
It’s the half-way point now and I’m enjoying watching all the sports I wouldn’t normally give the time of day to. Hopefully GB can continue is medal haul particularly the golds. Ho hum well that’s it for now I’m off to find out where I can practice archery or big arrers as I’m going to call it and maybe the Lottery will finance my trip to Brazil in four years’ time.
