Never felt more like singing the blues…
The smallest of profits yesterday on the buy of distances at Newmarket. It would have been even better but for the inevitable short head in the final race on the card.
The Sky cameras are at the Sixfields Stadium at 4pm on Sunday for Coventry v Sheffield United – two clubs who are shadows of their former selves and now battling it out in League One.
It’s a fixture that, in recent years at least, has produced few goals and three of the last four meetings have resulted in a stalemate.
Feb 2013 League One Sheff Utd 1-2 Coventry
Dec 2012 JP Trophy Coventry 1-1 Sheff Utd
Aug 2012 League One Coventry 1-1 Sheff Utd
Jan 2011 Championship Coventry 0-0 Sheff Utd

Mar 2009 Championship Coventry 1-2 Sheff Utd
Sep 2008 Championship Sheff Utd 1-1 Coventry
Mar 2008 Championship Sheff Utd 2-1 Coventry
Both teams are already languishing at the lower end of the table but in fairness to Coventry they had a 10 point deficit to overcome after entering administration.
Sheffield United play their first game since Friday’s sacking of David Weir. Hardly surprising given they have picked up just two points out of a possible 27 since winning on the first day of the season.
The managerless Blades’ team will be picked by Under-21 coach Chris Morgan, goalkeeping coach Darren Ward and academy chief Travis Binnion.
