S.P.Read Esq: Stoke City v Swansea City

Published On October 18, 2014 | By S.P.Read Esq. | Star Spreads

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the 4pm kick-off in the Premier League on Sunday between STOKE v SWANSEA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadBefore my Sunday preview, let’s start by updating the accounts.

I had a dream result at the Etihad yesterday with a sell of the THIRD match goal at 71 minutes for 7.5 points.

Aguero slotted home the third goal after just 20 minutes which is better than I could ever have expected for a profit of 382.50 points on the bet.

The racing wasn’t quite so good news. I sold both Leading Light (unplaced) and Forgotten Rules (winner) in the opener for 10 points at 18 and 15 respectively.

So, a profit of 180 points on Leading Light but a nasty loss of (50-15) * 10 = 350 points on Forgotten Rules.

I also bought distances at 11.5 but they made up to only 7.05 lengths so a loss of 66.75 points on that.

Very much a roller-coaster of a day but a NET PROFIT OF 145.75 points on the day and the October deficit has been reduced to just 6.75 points.

Not the most exciting fixture on paper but Stoke v Swansea is the second leg of ‘Super’ Sunday after the lunchtime match between QPR and Liverpool.

Stoke’s last game before the international break saw them lose 3-1 to Sunderland which doesn’t exactly look good in light of Sunderland’s 8-0 hammering at the hands of Southampton on Saturday.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes was critical of his defenders that day and they will need to wake up for this match against a Swansea side who have made a solid start to the new season and a win today could see them leap up to the heady heights of fourth.

Stoke have won two and drawn the other in their previous three Premier League games against Swansea at the Britannia Stadium and will again be reliant upon Peter Crouch up front.

As for the bet on Star Spreads, I am quite happy to sell Stoke’s superiority at 0.05 which means we’ll end up with a tiny profit on a draw and a more significant one if Swansea take all three points.
