Turned out to be a great buy of bookings on Star Spreads yesterday for me at the Stadium Of Light.

I bought at 44 – and the card happy ref sent the final tally all the way up to 85.

That brought about a profit on the day of 820 points and January’s profit now stands at 1,017.50 points !!!

It’s going to be a hard act to follow today !

Old Trafford hosts Man U v Southampton at 4pm – the teams in third and fourth spot in the Premier League table. A win for Southampton would flip those places.

The team news is very positive for Man U as they report a return to fitness for Angel di Maria, Rafael, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Marouane Fellaini and Antonio Valencia.

Indeed Ashley Young is their only absentee.

Despite a sequence of better results (unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League games) I still get the feeling that Man U are not as safe as they used to be for odds-on backers. Louis van Gaal’s side have had some luck along the way and face a Southampton side who are playing much better than pre-season expectations.

However, the blunt stats remind us that Man U are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League matches against Southampton, winning six and drawing two.

There’s usually goals when these two meet and the market that appeals most on Star Spreads is the time of the 2nd match goal.

I can sell at 61 minutes which tempts me and hopefully the job will be completed by half-time.
