Massive match on Friday night at the Riverside as Middlesbrough host Brentford in their 2nd leg of the Championship Play-Off Semi-Final.

It will take place in front of a sell-out 30,000 crowd and a partisan one at that with Brentford being allocated just 2,000 of the seats.

Fernando Amorebieta scored a 90th minute winner for Boro at Griffin Park in the first leg in what yet could prove priceless with the financial rewards of getting into the Premier League. Boro also beat Brentford in both regular season games by an aggregate of 5-0.

The Bees finished fifth in the Championship table, have been unsuccessful in their previous seven play-off campaigns – including three defeats in play-off finals.

Ominously for Brentford, Middlesbrough were the best performing home side in the Championship regular season losing just three games which is set against Brentford’s rather average record away from home where they have failed to win 12 of 23 games.

The winners will face either Norwich or Ipswich in the final at Wembley on Monday, 25 May.

Bookings look a very tempting buy at 48 in such a high pressure game in which no quarter will be given.

Friday’s ref Lee Mason is only on an average of 35 this season but in the first leg there were NINE yellows and it could get tasty again tonight.
