S.P.Read Esq: Ana Ivanovic v Elina Svitolina
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the quarter-final match in the French Open on Tuesday between IVANOVIC v SVITOLINA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
A profit of 90 points on Sunday in the Motherwell v Rangers game when the Star Spreads make-up on bookings was settled at 50 (I bought at 47).
Whilst there were two later sendings off in the embarrassing scenes that followed the final whistle – these were deemed outside of the market.
Still a nice profit – and I am aiming to finish June in profit across a wide range of sporting trades on Star Spreads.
My first dabble onto the tennis courts at Roland Garros on Tuesday for the Ana Ivanovic v Elina Svitolina quarter final match.
Ivanovic looks a worthy and solid favourite – she is rated the 7th seed compared to Svitolina who is 21st.
The two players have met on six previous occasions and only once has Svitolina taken a set but never a match. Crucially, Svitolina has come up short twice in their previous two clay court appearances which included at Roland Garros last year.
Ivanovic won this title in 2008 having also reached the final the previous year when beaten by Justine Henin.
She progressed to the final eight this year courtesy of a 7-5 3-6 6-1 win against Ekaterina Markova and her supporters must be hopeful that the 27-year-old is playing some of her best tennis again.
Conversely, Svitolina, aged 20, has had a relatively easy passage so far but may yet again find Ivanovic her nemesis in Paris.
Both players have suspect first serves and the double fault count looks set to be high.
With the Ivanovic win index (25 points for the win) at around 17.5 with Star Spreads we’re not going to get too rich on this project but I’m having a decent sized bet to start the June account.
