S.P.Read Esq: Glorious Goodwood Day Five
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the fifth and final day of GLORIOUS GOODWOOD and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
It’s been a profitable week for the column at Glorious Goodwood which (for once) has lived up to its name from a personal punting perspective.
Muthmir was another winner for the column yesterday when landing the King George Stakes and a profit of 495 points to the recommended trade on Star Spreads !!!
It’s the final day of Glorious Goodwood today – but not Galway !! They started a day earlier and finish a day later as well. Makes Goodwood look lightweight in comparison.
I’m giving the Qatar Stewards’ Cup a swerve – being the lightweight I am and concentrating on the Group 1 race of the day – the Qatar Nassau Stakes for fillies over the best part of ten furlongs at 3.10pm.
Legatissimo is the warm favourite. She is only two short heads away from having three Group 1 victories in a row on her CV. The David Wachman trained filly ran on well to win the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May and then was pipped on the post by shock winner Qualify in the Epsom Oaks and also went down by a short head by Diamondsandrubies in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last time out.
Diamondsandrubies is back today and again there should be precious little to choose between the pair.
John Gosden has won the last three runnings of this race and Star Of Seville is his main challenger this time. She won the Prix De Diane at Chantilly last time out but was well adrift of Legatissimo in the Oaks.
Legatissimo for me – narrowly.
Again, I’m a buyer on the 50/25/10 index.
