S.P.Read Esq: Watford v Chelsea

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game on Wednesday between WATFORD v CHELSEA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadFrustratingly got everything right about the West Ham v Aston Villa game last night but just picked the wrong Star Spreads trade with the time of the first Aston Villa goal which I needed to arrive earlier than 47 minutes for a profit. Given Jordan Ayew’s sending off after just 17 minutes for a stupid challenge it was therefore disappointing to have to wait 58 minutes for the West Ham opener.

Two more Premier League games tonight: Everton taking on Newcastle at Goodison and Watford playing host to Chelsea at Vicarage Road which is the live game on BT SPORT (7.45pm). The reverse fixture finished 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in December in a match where both teams had the lead and it was also Guus Hiddink’s first game of his latest tenure.

Chelsea are undoubtedly playing better football under Hiddink but the reaction and celebrations to their 5-1 FA Cup win over the MK Dons seems to have been over-cooked somewhat.

The fact they are a shade of odds-on with Star Sports fixed odds for this fixture is a little insulting to Watford who are four points clear of them in the Premier League table with both sides having played 23 games. League tables don’t tend to lie after 23 games and it looks as if, again, Chelsea are being priced on former glories rather than current form.

Odion Ighalo remains a potent force for the Hornets and has now scored seven goals in his last seven Premier League appearances at Vicarage Road.

Watford’s head coach Quique Sanchez Flores said: “Chelsea are playing well, but we are also in the same condition, recuperating good feelings to keep a good position in the league, so I think for sure it will be a very tough match.”
