S.P.Read Esq: Arsenal v Leicester
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game on Sunday between ARSENAL v LEICESTER and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

It doesn’t get much better for armchair football fans and if you’re an armchair football fan that likes rugby as well – don’t plan on moving for around eight hours.
The fate of the Premier League MIGHT become clearer by close of play but whatever happens today those Foxy Foxes will still be top of the table – the question today, is really which of their three rivals can step up for the battle? In many ways the most significant game will be Man City v Spurs as both will need to go all out for the win – under any outcome in the midday Arsenal v Leicester City game. Two will really need to become one (cue cheesy Valentines Day pun) from Man City and Spurs.
A win for Leicester today would be extraordinary in an extraordinary season but don’t rule it out completely. Forget those merchants who keep peddling lines about ‘bubbles about to burst’. It’s too late for that – bubbles tend to burst at Christmas not in mid-February. When you question them WHY the bubble will burst – they generally have no answers – just can’t contemplate the prospect of small spending 5000/1 Leicester doing the unthinkable.
If you’re an Arsenal fan you will simply expect Arsenal to do what Arsenal generally tend to do to Leicester (see stats below) in any old season. Except that this isn’t any old season and there’s more pressure on the Gunners than the pre-match fixed odds of around 3/4 might indicate.
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger said: “They are in a position still where they think that they have nothing to lose. But once you’re on top of the league you can think that now you can lose what you have. And that’s where the nerves come in a little bit. I don’t know how they will respond to that. I believe there is still a long way to go. It was very important for us to win (last) Sunday and I think we are back to our normal level.”
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri countered: “The pressure’s on the others. Tell me why we have pressure? Why must I feel pressure? We just continue to dream with our fans.”

The key statistic is probably the scoreline from September when Arsenal beat Leicester 5-2 in the reverse fixture – one of just two league losses for Leicester this season.
I’m expecting it to be close in the early stages with Arsenal eventually getting a hard earned win. As such, I am buying the time of the first match goal at 36 minutes with Star Spreads. It surely can’t be worse than yesterday’s disaster with Sunderland scoring after three minutes.
