S.P.Read Esq: AFC Bournemouth v Everton

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the FA Cup game on Saturday between AFC BOURNEMOUTH v EVERTON and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadThe last (and only time) Everton met Bournemouth in the FA Cup the Toffees won 5-0. It was, however, back in 1937 !

League positions are always crucial at this stage of the FA Cup campaign and such is the wealth associated with staying in the Premier League there is no doubt at all that Bournemouth would jettison the FA Cup if it meant survival.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has rotated his squad in previous rounds of the Cup and that policy is likely to be the same today with his counterpart Roberto Martinez much more likely to send out a full-strength squad for this match covered live on BBC1.

Bournemouth still have plenty of work to do in the league before they are anyway near guaranteed safety and they haven’t exactly over-impressed in their FA Cup games so far – needing an 85th minute winner to beat Birmingham and an 83rd minute winner to beat Portsmouth in the third and fourth rounds.

Everton have had the luck of the draw so far with easy wins against lower league rivals in Dagenham And Redbridge and then Carlisle.

Martinez said: “The team is mentally ready. I think we showed so far this season what we can achieve. In the League Cup, we got into the semi-final. In the FA Cup we are in the fifth round, facing another Premier League side away from home, understanding the difficulties that brings but in the same way very much looking forward to that opportunity.”

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Maximum 10 matches)
Nov 2015 PREMIER Bournemouth 3-3 Everton
Oct 1985 LEAGUE CUP Bournemouth 0-2 Everton
Sep 1985 LEAGUE CUP Everton 3-2 Bournemouth
Jan 1937 ENGLISH FA CUP Everton 5-0 Bournemouth

There were plenty of goals when these two met in the Premier League in November – 3-3 full time but Everton through it away somewhat having been 2-0 up at half-time.

I’m taking them to make slightly easier work of it today and am therefore selling the time of both the third match goal and Everton’s first goal on Star Spreads.
