S.P.Read Esq: Man City v Arsenal

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Sunday’s Premier League game at 4pm between MAN CITY v ARSENAL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

Man City have performed admirably in the Champions League this season but it remains to be seen how much their effort in Spain midweek will take out of them in, what is now, a classic end of season affair between two sides who had far bigger aspirations at the start of the campaign.

That said, there is still bronze place to be decided and a win for Arsenal would guarantee them at least third position and a top-four finish for the 20th year in a row. That’s one heck of a stat !

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger said: “We have regrets because we had a chance to finish top of the league. Our target now is to secure our position in the Champions League next year. If possible, to get in second place and at least secure third and on Sunday we can achieve that. If we win the two games, we will be all right.”

Couple the Man City fatigue factor with the fact that Arsenal are unbeaten against Man City in their last five meetings and I wouldn’t be one for diving in at short odds about the hosts.

City will be without their captain Vincent Kompany who suffered a groin injury during Wednesday’s defeat against Real Madrid. Also out for Man City are: David Silva, Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov.

Arsenal will be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with a knee injury and Per Mertesacker sidelined with a hamstring problem.
