S.P. Read Esq: Man City v Celtic

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Tuesday’s Champions League clash between MAN CITY v CELTIC and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadAn exciting night of Champions League action to look forward to with the eye-catcher from a domestic viewpoint definitely being Man City v Celtic at the Etihad.

Certainly, a repetition of the 3-3 draw at Parkhead will make this an entertaining affair – although the fact that Man City can’t improve on their current second place in Group C and Celtic are already out of Europe throws a damp squib on the importance of the game and therefore a caution to punters.

Pep Guardiola is certain to have his eyes on Saturday’s Premier League trip to Leicester and the City ship is somewhat rattled after their comprehensive home defeat to Chelsea at the weekend. In truth, tonight is a match that both teams can now probably do without.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is being pragmatic: “We’re disappointed not to have brought it down to last game but I’m proud of the players and how they have taken on the challenge of such a difficult group.

“Hopefully we’ve shown that we’ve improved as the games have gone on.

“I don’t see it as an end, it’s another opportunity for us to learn and to take that experience into next season’s competition.”

Both sides are likely to rotate heavily and the team news will clearly be significant. It will be interesting to see if Aguero starts. He faces a four-match domestic ban that will see him sidelined until 31 December but is not banned from European games.

Given the circumstances of the game there could well be plenty of goal action again. I’m not sure we’ll get six goals but am selling the time of the third match goal at 68 minutes with Star Spreads.
