Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Monday’s Premier League clash between EVERTON v LIVERPOOL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
The DRAW should really be odds on !! At least going by the recent head to head records in the Merseyside derby.
The last four league meetings at Goodison have ended in stalemate and six of the last eight matches have also been drawn, with Liverpool winning the two other games by a 4-0 scoreline on both occasions.
Liverpool are clearly in the better form (11 points superior) and a win tonight would lift them back into second place – six points off the pacesetting Chelsea.
Liverpool lost some momentum with a dramatic 4-3 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth and a draw against West Ham but it was normal service resumed with a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside in their latest game.
Everton were on five league games without a win before beating Arsenal 2-1 – a match which saw captain Phil Jagielka see red in the closing stages. That means he misses tonight’s game as his one-match suspension.
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp reports striker Daniel Sturridge might be involved following his calf injury.
Everton’s manager Ronald Koeman said: ”The derby is all about the fans, we understand that but we need to be calm and prepare for the game in the way we like.
“It’s about preparing the team. You have an emotional part that you need to control. That’s the most important.
“Our recent record is not good. One derby win out of 19. We need to accept how difficult it is, win the game and make the fans happy.”
