S.P. Read Esq: Southampton v Tottenham
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Wednesday’s Premier League clash between SOUTHAMPTON v TOTTENHAM and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
The Premier League festive programme rolls on to St Mary’s tonight and the betting is struggling to split Southampton and Spurs in the 7.45pm kick off.
The Saints have only won one of their last eight encounters with Spurs but both sides arrive in reasonable current form.
Spurs have won three of their last four league games – only coming unstuck with a 1-0 defeat to Man U at Old Trafford.
Southampton are generally struggling with goals but beat Bournemouth 3-1 before Christmas with 1-0 wins against Everton and Middlesbrough but a 3-0 loss to Palace amongst their latest results.
The Saints remain in contention of a European place and their manager Claude Puel said: “We were unlucky with our European campaign this season and want to find other possibilities to play those games, and the best possibility is via the Premier League.
“It’s a good challenge for us. We know now all the opponents in the Premier League and if we can play against these teams at a good level then we have the chance to stay ambitious in the second half of the season.”
