Chelsea’s loss at home to Crystal Palace has suddenly left the Premier League door a little ajar with the tiniest squeak of light.
The question today is whether Man City can do enough today to take advantage, three points would lift them into third – still nine points off Chelsea but close enough if good enough if Chelsea continue to falter.
City will see this as a good opportunity to visit the Gunners with the continued debate about Wenger’s remaining time in charge and Arsenal on a terrible run of form losing six of their last nine games including Premier League defeats at the hands of Watford, Chelsea, Liverpool and arguably worst of all a 3-1 defeat by West Brom last time out when they were level at the break.
Wenger said: “Our season will be decided by the next two months and the ability we show to fight.
“Our future will be decided by our mental qualities. We have had enough press conferences about (my future) and at this moment it is not the most important thing at the club.
“It’s a strange season because we played 20 games unbeaten but I cannot sit here and say we have no flaws in our team because we have.”
There’s usually plenty of goals between this pair (average 3.86 per game in the last seven league games) and despite Arsenal losing only one of of their last 19 previous home games against Man City times are a changing.
