The Premier League returns with a lunchtime cracker at Anfield with Liverpool taking on Man U.

Even if it doesn’t live up to the hype, surely it’s got to be more entertaining than some of the recent World Cup Qualifiers?

I’m totally with Man U here to get the away win. They are back playing good football again and have serious title hopes thanks to a resilient defence which has seen them concede just two goals in their seven Premier League games this season of which they have won six and drawn 2-2 at Stoke in the other game.

Four of their league wins this season have been by 4-0 margins and I think they could easily open Liverpool up – it’s highly unlikely to be a repeat of the 0-0 last season here.

Liverpool started the season in great form – notably beating Arsenal 4-0 (that scoreline is definitely catching!) but since that win at the end of August have won just one of their seven games across all competitions. In fairness, they’ve drawn four games but were torn apart 5-0 by Man City and it could be a similar story here. In short, for my money, United are in much better form and even allowing for Liverpool usually raising their game against the bigger sides there’s a momentum building behind Mourinho’s men that I can’t see being halted here.

The Man U manager said: “When you are in a big club, when you are a big player, when you are a big manager, every game is important.

“You cannot look at some matches as cup finals and other matches differently. It’s three points, not four. It’s just a three-point match. That’s the way I approach it.

“Will I be as negative as last season? I will play with one defender and nine strikers, that’s for sure. New system. Nine strikers, don’t worry about it.”

Reflecting on his two years in charge of Liverpool Jurgen Klopp said: “Is it a difficult job? Yes. Are we where we could be? Not sure.

“Did we do really well last year? Yes. Have we done better this year? Yes. But we didn’t get the results so far. Does that mean I should stop? No.

“We had to improve to be in the situation we’re in now.”

Anfield holds no fear for Man U who have won three of their past five league visits (D1, L1) and kept clean sheets in their past two games.

Current form says one thing. A Man U win.

I’m a bookings buyer on Star Spreads in what could be a feisty affair and also selling the time of the first Man U goal.
