S.P. Read Esq: West Ham v Brighton
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Friday’s Premier League game between WEST HAM v BRIGHTON and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
It might be easier to split the atom than trying to separate West Ham and Brighton at the London Stadium tonight when the Premier League weekend gets underway.
The two sides sit 14th and 15th in the table with both teams notching up eight points from the first eight games. In the league table ‘photo finish’ Brighton edge it courtesy of a two-goal better goal difference.
West Ham emerged with a point against Burnley last weekend at Turf Moor which ended up being a good result after Andy Carroll was sent off after just 27 minutes so he misses tonight and the Hammers will also be without Diafra Sakho who has a back injury.
It was a point too for Brighton on Sunday but they were just a couple of minutes away from a third Premier League win of the season before conceding a late penalty against Everton. It would have been a massive three points for them and could yet come back to haunt them.
Apart from a 3-1 win over WBA, Brighton have yet to score more than one goal in a match this season and went the first three games of their new Premier League status without scoring so goals remain a concern. However, they do tend to stay strong in the early stages of their games as five half-time draws are testimony to.
Their away form is under the closest scrutiny though. Manager Chris Hughton said “It’s going to be about away form that’s going to be the most challenging.
“It’s a game away from home, in a big stadium, against a very talented team.”

Bookings might be the market to concentrate on rather than goals – especially with the Star Spreads special (below).
I’m a buyer at 39 – hopefully Martin Atkinson will be kept busy in a match where both sides will be desperate for the three points.
