S.P. Read Esq: West Ham v Liverpool

The neutral can only consider today’s matches in the Premier League as the starter course before the feast on Sunday. It looks a day on the sofa tomorrow for Man City v Arsenal swiftly followed by Chelsea v Man U.

West Ham’s recent ‘revival’ looks fragile and will be tested by Liverpool who don’t tend to travel well but should prove too strong for the Hammers as they did last season when winning the corresponding fixture 4-0.
The Hammers looked set to take all three points at Selhurst Park last weekend but conceded in the 90th minute to share the spoils. After beating Spurs in the EFL Cup that would have been the perfect result to have built on and help erase how pitiful they were when beaten 3-0 at home by Brighton last month.
Slaven Bilic remains under constant pressure as West Ham manager. He said: “Yes, of course I need something personally. I am in a position I don’t want to be in. I have been there for quite a time now.
“I do think I can turn it around, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.”
Liverpool’s only away win in the league so far this season came at Leicester and manager Jurgen Klopp said: “I’m happy that we have this record at home…but if you want to be really successful you cannot leave points in other cities.
“Two of our away games were big defeats, but a lot of other teams will lose there.”
