Three defeats from their last five games has somewhat punctured the Spurs momentum balloon with their most damaging loss coming just a few days ago at the hands of arch rivals Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.

However, Spurs remain in good shape in fourth spot after a great start to the season and with them already qualified out of Group H for the knock-out stage surely there will be plenty of rotation in the side. This is a game that they no longer need to win but do have the carrot of securing top spot.

Dortmund, third placed in Group H, need to rely on results elsewhere to go their way.

Basically, the permutation is that Dortmund must win but then hope Real Madrid do not beat Apoel to keep alive their chances of progressing. Given that Real are around 1/6 to beat Apoel it’s the slimmest of chances and this game could rapidly become insignificant from both sides perspective.

More realistically for Dortmund they are shooting for a place in the Europa League.

Certainly you can’t blame Mauricio Pochettino for having more focus on the visit of West Brom to Wembley on Saturday and it will be interesting to see the team news.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli are expected to be rested after being short of full fitness against Arsenal.

Heung-min Son and Fernando Llorente are set to return for Spurs alongside Danny Rose who was left out of the squad for the north London derby defeat.

Not a game I want to risk too much in, especially after a nice result with the sell of the first match goal time last night in the Brighton game.
