Not a bad selection of football to get stuck into tonight ahead of 16 Champions League games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I’ll stick to the Birmingham v Wolves midlands derby as (apologies) my knowledge of Slough Town’s form is not great but I wish the minnows well in their FA Cup clash against Rochdale.

If league positions count for anything, this should be a one-sided game in favour of the high-flying visitors who are topping the Championship table by a point from Cardiff so get the chance to open daylight tonight.

Birmingham are at the opposite end of the table and in deep trouble with just 16 points leaving them currently in the drop zone.

It’s not yet challenging Man City’s winning streak but Wolves are looking for a sixth win on the bounce however boss Nuno Espirito Santo is aware of how tricky derby fixtures can be.

He said: “It is a derby. We cannot forget that. Derbies are different. They are special games. We look at Birmingham as a tough team.

“I have been involved in many derby games. And taking care of your emotions during the game is the most important thing.

“We still have a long way to go. It is not done yet. It is important that we do not lose our focus.

“Of course we are confident. What gives you confidence is the way you work.”

Wolves will be without their record signing Ruben Neves who is suspended after his fifth booking of the season picked up during their 5-1 thumping of Bolton.

Birmingham have twice risen to the occasion in taking on high-flying opposition this season beating Bristol City and Cardiff City.
