Supremacy
If we thought Man Utd were slight favourite over Chelsea for a football match, we might put our supremacy price at Man Utd over Chelsea 0.2 to 0.4 goals i.e.
Man Utd / Chelsea 0.2 – 0.4
If you thought Man Utd would do well you would bet high or “buy” their supremacy at 0.4 for your chosen stake say €10 a point.
If you were right you would win €10 for every goal over 0.4 that Man Utd beat Chelsea by.
So if Man Utd won 2-0 (won by 2 goals you would win (2-0.4) x €10 = Win €16
If Chelsea won 4-0 (won by 4 goals) you would win (4-0.4) x €10 = Win €36
But if you were wrong you would lose €10 for each goal worse Man Utd did than winning by 0.4
So if the game finished 0-0 you would lose (0.4-0) x €4 = Lose €4
If Ireland LOST 2-0 (lost by 2 goals) you would lose (0.4+2) x €10 = Lose €24

Total Goals
Say we quoted the following price
Man Utd v Arsenal Total Goals 2.8-3.0
If you thought it would be a high scoring match you would bet high or “buy” the total goals at the higher price of 3 for the stake that suited you say €50 a goal.
If you were right you would win €50 for every goal scored above 3
If there were 3 goals you would break even
If there were 4 goals you would win €50
If there were 5 goals you would win €100
If there were 6 goals you would win €150 and so on
If you were wrong you would lose €50 for every goal below 3
If there were 2 goals you would lose €50
If there were 1 goal you would lose €100
If there were no goals you would lose €150
If you thought it would be a tight low scoring affair you would bet low or “sell” the total goals at the lower price of 2.8 for the stake that suited you say €50 a goal.
If you were right you would win €50 for every goal the total goals were below 2.8
If the score was 1-1, i.e. 2 goals in the match, you would win the difference in the number of goals you sold at and the number of goals that there were multiplied by your stake.
If there were 2 goals you would win (2.8-2) x €50 = Win €40
If there were 1 goal you would win (2.8-1) x €50 = Win €90
If there were no goals you would win (2.8-0) x €50 = Win €140
If you were wrong and there were 3 goals in the game you would lose the difference in the number of goals you sold at and the number of goals there were multiplied by your stake.
If there were 3 goals you would lose (3-2.8) x €50 = Lose €10
If there were 4 goals you would lose (4-2.8) x €50 = Lose €60
If there were 5 goals you would lose (5-2.8) x €50 = Lose €110
If there were 6 goals you would lose (6-2.8) x €50 = Lose €160 and so on
