The Premier League is back this weekend and first up it’s Sunderland v Liverpool at the Stadium Of Light during Saturday lunchtime (12.45pm LIVE BT SPORT).

Liverpool were hardly over-impressive in their FA Cup match against AFC Wimbledon who put up a good fight and arguably deserved at least a point. Gerrard making the difference.

It’s hard to see how Liverpool, at odds-on, can make such appeal given their poor form on the road this season. Only Burnley and QPR have conceded more away goals.

Sunderland can be hard to get past at home. They already have draws with Man U, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham on their CV this season so are hardly going to be freaked out by Liverpool.

Liverpool continue to be held back by the absence of Daniel Sturridge but the news is he could make his long-awaited return towards the end of this month.

For Sunderland, Lee Cattermole is still struggling with a groin injury and Jack Rodwell is set for a fitness test after a hamstring problem.

The reverse fixture last month finished 0-0.
