4th and God
The stage is set as Tebow and his Broncos hit Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots. This is going to be amazing: the golden boy Tom Brady against God-reincarnated Tim Tebow.
Up until Sunday night I was not buying into any of the hype around the Denver superstar but I must admit after his game-winning performance against Pittsburgh I have been converted. Yes I said it: I’m a believer!
Tebow threw for 316 yards and 2 touchdowns, rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown and he did it in style. Denver won the game 29-23 in overtime when Tebow launched a pass to Demaryius Thomas on the first drive to set up a mouth-watering divisional match with the Pats.
The Patriots are coming off a bye-week so will be fresh for this one; they have had an extra week to prepare but, if I had to guess, I’d say they were getting ready to play big Ben and the Steelers not the Broncos, Tebow and of course God.
So I guess the way to look at it is would you prefer a week of rest or to keep momentum with a winning run? For me I’ll take the later. Denver will come into this game on a high and will be looking to get their first divisional playoff win since the 27-13 win in 2005 over none other than the New England Patriots!
Brady and Gronkowski have had a great partnership this year with the tight end coming into the game currently on 18 touchdowns so far. I can’t see the Denver defence stopping this offensively-minded Pats team, but on the other side of the coin I can’t see this poor New England defence stopping the Broncos either.
Let’s sum it up with Captain’s prediction and big bets for the game. I am expecting a high-scoring affair with both teams well capable of putting points on the board and I’ll be leaning towards Denver to get the result in this one. In a tight game like this I’d prefer to have GOD on my side!!
Praise the Lord it’s Tebow time!
