Amanda Perrett is often overlooked but her horses tend to run very well at Goodwood and in many ways, for a value bet, they should be one of the first horses you observe from a value perspective.

Perrett has yet to win a race at this year’s meeting but that may very well change today. Perrett runs Blue Surf in the first race of the day and this horse definitely has the potential to win a very competitive race.

Mark Johnston also has a great strike rate in this race winning two out of the last 6 years; he runs four horses this year and, while any of these horses has a chance, preference has to be for Prussian who has had two good runs at Newmarket on both soft and firm ground.

Blue Surf: 2pt e/w at @ 16/1
Prussian: 1pt e/w at 7/1

Jo Hughes wouldn’t be a trainer that you would see running too many horses at Goodwood but when he enters a horse and books Fallon for the ride you should definitely take some notice and this is the case with Amazing storm in the 4:55.

Amazing Storm is a new acquisition for an in form yard, this horse also has decent form at Goodwood finishing 4th in a maiden stakes race here last year.

Jakes Destiny and Shamaal Nibras are two others who could run a big race but, taking into consideration the prices, preference is for Jakes destiny who is very progressive and may just be better than everyone thinks.

Amazing Storm: 2pt e/w at 12/1
Jakes Destiny: 1pt e/w at 8/1

This is a difficult race to predict and there are many with chances but it has to be said that Zamdy Man won in fine style at Newmarket on his latest run and at bigger prices he might be the horse to take.

Silver Lime also looks like he might be the real deal and cannot be ignored while Jupitor Storm has a recent race run at Goodwood over 9 furlongs and he finished 5th in that race, but it is not reassuring that he was fading fast in the last furlong and that race was two furlongs shorter than this one.

Finally at very big prices a horse called Incendiary who has been very consistent might be worth a small wager.

Zamdy Man: 2pt e/w at 16/1
Incendiary: 1pt e/w at 33/1
