Time 'Ticking Away

There is on-going banter between me and a colleague from work. He said Celtic at 33/1 on were a value bet for the SPL this season and I for various reasons said that they weren’t. Now admittedly none of my disaster scenarios regarding financial irregularities, plane crashes, Rangers reinstated have yet occurred. However having played 5 matches Celtic have played 13% of their fixtures for the season so let’s see how these shoo-ins are faring.

Well they have Won 2 Drawn 2 and Lost 1 and are in the top half of the table but at 5th only just. They have a game in hand I hear you cry well not against Dundee Utd who are above them and if even if they won their game in hand they would still be behind Motherwell on 12 points and level with Hibs on 11. If anyone did back them at 33/1 ON at the start of the season, and only credit punters could really do that as you could probably get the same 3% return guaranteed with some sound financial advice, then they cannot be sitting very comfortably. It was the last kick of the match that gave Celtic the draw at Ross County or they would be even further down the table, but hey the ‘Tic always love a late goal.

A long way to go I know but I’ve got to take my chance to crow as now they are 1/13 to back on Betfair and though that is a massive drift they are still going to win well over 90% of the time. Celtic play bottom of the table Dundee at home next and anything other than a win will seem them drift again but then the crunch encounter with league topping Motherwell which if they lose means they can’t be top of the league for a long time. As the title suggests time is ticking away for the ‘Tic. Well that not value so what is a value bet to have well how about Stoke at 5/2 to finish in the top 10 now they have international goal machines Crouch and Owen up front.

Can you name two players for the same Premiership team who together have scored as many international goals as this little and large duo. No I thought not as you have 62 to beat. Let me know if you find such a dynamic duo.
