The League Cup

It’s League Cup football again tonight. It’s definitely not my favourite Competition of the year but it does throw up some unusual results. This can because the Big Boys play weakened teams and the Minor clubs play every round as if it’s a World Cup Final.

Bradford smashed Aston Villa 3-1 (It could have been more) so who knows what way that Semi-Final will turn out. Villa are 1/3 to win the home game and 6/5 to Qualify but I think if I had a gun to my head I would have to side with Bradford holding on to reach the Final at 5/6.

What I have taken from last night’s leg is this: Whoever gets to the final, Swansea or Chelsea, they may as well start engraving their names on the cup. Villa are abysmal and Bradford are Bradford so..

Which brings me to tonight’s clash. Chelsea at home to Swansea. I think Swansea can cause some difficulty and leave Stamford Bridge with hopes of the Final (and the trophy) still intact. Chelsea are the best team left in the competition, there is no doubting that, but having the opportunity to back Swansea to win the cup at 11/2 is too good a bet for me to pass up. Swansea are only 5/2 to Qualify for the final… How has anyone decided they are then 11/2 for the Competition? Its madness.. Obviously someone out there thinks Villa or the mighty Bradford have a chance in the final!… I don’t!

Good Luck.
Skipper.
