Well what a strange season for the Wigan faithful. They are 1/4 to go down this season yet they are 4/1 to bring some FA Cup silverware down with them. It must seem as strange for Manchester City who started off winning the Community Shield back in August but have not done what many expected them to do which was to get another Premier League title under their belts.

So big surprise as both teams have a lot to play for in FA Cup Final but how about a prediction I hear you cry. Well here goes this year’s FA Cup final will be 1-0 to Wigan at half time (17/2), full-time 2-2 (20/1) have no goals in extra time and Man City to win on penalties (16/1). Not specific enough for you? Well watch out for the long delay during play, I’m setting the spread of total injury time minutes at 6-7. I hope I’m wrong because I’d like Wigan to win as every Wiganer I’ve ever met has been class and I love an underdog. This football tipster lark is a bet to nothing, when I’m wrong no-one will remember except the boss who’ll give me a pat on the back for putting a few losers the punters way but if I get it spot on everyone thinks I have Derren Brown type prediction abilities.

I know I’m an old fuddy duddy but I’d prefer a traditional 3pm kick off and it not to be called The FA Cup with Budweiser  and what’s wrong with a leather ball with laces and players playing for 10 bob fag money etc. etc .

Well let’s hope it’s worth watching and Wigan give the heavy favourites of Man City a good run for their money and maybe even pinch it. The absolute worst would be an early City goal and then them just stifling the game so roll on an early Wigan goal and the winner’s ribbons not being tied on to the cup until the last minute to keep all us neutrals happy.
