Getting it wrong and right at the same time
It was a pleasant case last night of getting it wrong but getting it right.
I thought the total games spread looked too high at 37-39 and was a seller in the Murray v Wawrenka match but that was because I thought it was going to be straight forward for Murray.
In the end it was a straight sets win for Wawrenka, against all the odds, and a make-up on the games of only 27 so a very welcome 10 points profit on the bet with Star Spreads.
I’ll have to get it wrong more often !!!
It’s World Cup action from Group H tonight at Wembley Stadium and it’s a must win match for England against Moldova who are 123rd in the FIFA world rankings.
England are long odds on and anything other than a win would be a disaster for Roy Hodgson’s team who face a much tougher game against Ukraine on Tuesday, a match which will go a long way to decide whether they qualify automatically.
In terms of a bet tonight I’m not sure there is much upside in buying England’s superiority at 3.1 – given they seldom do things as easily as they should and the vibes from Roy Hodgson have hardly been positive this week.
SUMMARY
I’m a seller for small stakes on the England / Moldova market at around 2.9.
