Champions League Preview
Juventus v Real Madrid
Juventus’ Champions League hopes hang by a thread going into Tuesday’s showdown with Group B leaders Real Madrid. The Italian outfit have just two points from their opening three games and, with second-placed Galatasaray facing rock-bottom Copenhagen, a home defeat to the Spanish giants could leave them five points adrift of a qualification spot for the last 16. But Antonio Conte, who saw his side lose 2-1 at the Bernabeu, believes the home fans can make the difference. I fancy Juve to get something from this game tonight, and will be backing them on the goal supremacy at 0.1 with Sporting Index (That price will not be around for much longer – The money is coming in for Juve thick and fast this afternoon)
Real Sociedad v Man United
Sociedad’s elimination will be confirmed if they lose tonight, or if they draw and Leverkusen win in Ukraine in the group’s other fixture. I can’t see past an away win here, United are starting to find form and this is a game where they can really take some momentum into a crucial home game against Arsenal on Sunday. Ideally Moyes would like to have the luxury of resting a few players tonight, but with Rafael, Patrice Evra, Jonny Evans and Tom Cleverley all doubts for the game, United will have to field as strong a team as possible in an attempt to arrive home with three crucial group points in the bag. I’ll be selling the time of the 1st Man United at around the 50 mark in this one.
Man City v CSKA
Like their archrivals Manchester United, City have not had the best of starts in the Premier League this season, and they are currently six points of league leaders Arsenal. However, they have won two of their three games in Europe, losing only to holders Bayern at the Etihad. City head into this game high on confidence, after hammering Norwich City 7-0 at the Etihad during the weekend. I expect an eventful evening at Eastlands and have bought the match performance at 110 with Spreadex.
