The two teams come into this match in very different form. Motherwell were shocked in the Scottish Cup by Albion Rovers while Celtic thrashed Hearts 7-0.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon: “We played very well against Motherwell early in the season, so I’m hoping for more of the same.
“Fir Park wasn’t good to us last year. It’s a different team and players now and we will approach the game as we have approached all the other games this season.
“It (the surprise Scottish Cup loss at Albion Rovers) will give Motherwell an extra edge in that they have to restore some pride. It was a big shock as they have been so consistent over the last couple of years.
“I remember coaching under Gordon Strachan and we beat St Mirren 7-0 and then the following weekend we lost 1-0 to them in the cup.
Celtic are on a right old roll and it’s hard to see them losing but selling them on the Star Spreads supremacy looks the call in the hope that Motherwell, with home advantage, can repeat recent successes over the league leaders.
