Ever get the feeling it might just be one of those days ?

Just finished writing up a preview for the televised Kidderminster Harriers v Cambridge United match tonight in the Skrill Premier League, AKA ‘The Conference’, when news arrived via twitter that heavy rain has resulted in a pitch inspection.

Cambridge, for what it’s worth, are the bet on the supremacy with Star Spreads – either for tonight, or, for when it is rearranged.

The weather is continuing to play havoc with the racing fixtures over the jumps and Friday’s cards at Newcastle and Bangor have already been called off and Uttoxeter are the latest track to announce an inspection, 8am Friday, ahead of Saturday’s card.

Fingers crossed that our sister company Star Sports’ sponsored card at Warwick on Saturday gets the go-ahead. The going is currently soft but ominously heavy rain is forecast this afternoon running through to Friday morning.

The big race is the Star Sports Kingmaker Novices’ Chase, due off at 2.40 on Saturday and televised live by Channel 4.

I’m heading to Doncaster for a look at the starting prices market.

A sell at 36 looks interesting – with just two runners in the first – it’s effectively a six race card and some favourites with very solid chances to hopefully give us a profit.
