Our daily columnist and pundit S.P.Read Esq. previews the fifth and final day of Royal Ascot and GERMANY v GHANA at 8pm !!

Distances are getting there but still not enough to make a profit. However, there was better news in the football with a sell of total goals (1) in the Italy v Costa Rica game to ensure a nice profit on the day.

The column is now 89.7 points up since the start of the World Cup and hopefully we can build on that today.

The opening spread keeps dropping on the distances this week at Royal Ascot. Not surprising because even the longer distance races are producing close finishes but again I am going to buy, in the hope that at least one race will deliver.

We have the longest race of the week at Royal Ascot on Saturday – the concluding Queen Alexandra Stakes – plenty of National Hunt horses and some National Hunt style winning distances would be most welcome.

I’m buying at 8.6 today with Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

In terms of the football, Argentina and Germany – who are disputing second favouritism in the World Cup outright market should have straight forward tasks today against Iran and Ghana respectively.

Looks like a day to be on goals in both games but I am going to play in the Germany game with a buy of goals at a starting point of 3.35.

I just wish I’d bought goals in the Switzerland v France game last night. Final score 2-5 – a buyers dream.
