S.P. Read Esq. Calm down, calm down…..

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P.Read Esq. previews the racing at EPSOM and looks at the best opportunity available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadI‘ve been keeping a close eye on the Epsom distance markets all morning on Star Spreads and they’ve only been going one way – up up and away.

Yes, there was a deluge yesterday

Yes, there was more rain this morning

Yes, there are a stack of non runners

Yes, there is a two horse race on the card

But at what point do you consider that the market has over-reacted and the option now becomes to sell?

Unless there’s been a mass ice bucket challenge on the track this morning there’s only one direction I’m heading.

The spread is 19-21 which is pretty huge for a six race flat card where five of the six races are handicaps.

Selling at 19 I am looking for an average of 3.16 lengths per race and even if disaster strikes in the two runner race with a maximum of 12 lengths I’m still not sure there’s huge downside with a sell.

I might might even get lucky – two runner races are often tactical affairs.

Sell, sell, sell for me…..
