SPread

It’s the two teams in third place in the Premier League and Championship battling it out tonight in front of the BBC cameras at 7.55pm.

Ipswich Town welcome Southampton after their first leg ended 1-1 at St Mary’s.

The winners will be rewarded with a home tie against Crystal Palace in the fourth round.

Ipswich have a terrific record at home, losing just two games since last March but there’s been some illness in the camp today and they are likely to play a weakened side tonight.

Midfielders Cole Skuse, Teddy Bishop and Jay Tabb were all sent home from training because of a virus and are set to miss the match at Portman Road.

Ipswich come into this on the back of a defeat by Derby on Saturday and look vulnerable here against a Southampton side who are now unbeaten in six games and, of course, flying high in the Premier League.

In the first leg Southampton had 66% of the possession but couldn’t find a winner but I expect them to show their class tonight and come through this challenge.
