Two more Champions League Last 16 games tonight and the more competitive one, on paper at least, looks to be in Switzerland as domestic league leaders FC Basel take on FC Porto for the first time.

The odds narrowly favour the visitors who are one of only three unbeaten sides remaining in the competition.

Porto coach Julen Lopetegui said: “This tie will be well-balanced. Paulo Sousa is doing a great job at Basel, and he and his team showed a lot of character during the group stage. They are also very experienced, full of international players.”

“We go into every game aiming for the win, to be the main protagonists. Basel are a complete side, they have a clear idea about how to attack and defend, and we have to put on two great performances to go through – one is not enough.”

Porto have the luxury of no injury worries whilst for Basel Ivanov (knee), Schär (suspended) are out and Gashi is suffering from fatigue (ahhhh diddums) !

I was one card short last night in the bookings but the yellows were flowing in both matches and tonight’s ref is Englishman Mark Clattenburg who is averaging 40 points this season but might take a harsher stance in this European game where the tackles can often be rougher. As such I am buying at 48.
