S.P.Read Esq: Liverpool v Besiktas
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Europa League game on Thursday (8.05pm, LIVE ITV) between LIVERPOOL v BESIKTAS and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
At last – a MEGA WIN !!!!
I hit the jackpot last night with the buy of bookings in the Basel v Porto game.
The policy of buying, based on an English referee in charge of a European game, paid off handsomely with Clattenburg dishing out NINE yellow cards !!!
I bought at 48 on Star SpreadsĀ – so it was a huge profit and the column is now 1,090 points UP in February.
You can be fairly certain that Liverpool won’t have things quite so easy at Anfield tonight as they did when Besiktas last visited.
That was in the Champions League in 2007 when Liverpool romped to an 8-0 win but there are good reasons to think that Besiktas will be much tougher rivals in 2015.
The Turkish side are managed by former West Ham and Everton defender Slaven Bilic and are current domestic league leaders.
They are unbeaten so far in the eternally long Europa League format, including a 1-0 home win against Spurs.
Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling faces a late fitness test having missed two games with a foot injury but captain Steven Gerrard (hamstring) and Lucas Leiva (thigh) are both out.
Liverpool have only suffered one loss in their last 16 games (across all competitions) and should make most of home advantage.
