Southampton have also been boosted with news that Shane Long and Morgan Schneiderlin are available again after injury.
For Liverpool, captain Steven Gerrard is again missing with his hamstring problem, however Raheem Sterling is expected to be back in the starting 11 after a foot injury.
Southampton struggled against the big teams in the first half of the season but have more recently held Chelsea and beaten Arsenal and Manchester United.
Honours are shared in the last 10 Premier League games between the pair with five wins a piece and no draws.
