S.P.Read Esq: Cheltenham Day Two

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the second day of the CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

Back to Cheltenham and unfortunately a set back on day one.

The distance market on Star Spreads was settled at 19.95 which was someway short of the 31 target.

It’s not surprising to see the distance market change quite dramatically today on what looks a more competitive card – as a buyer we are now needing a target of 24 lengths for a profit.

The market is an aggregate of the winning distances on the card over the seven races and again I am a buyer today. Therefore I am looking at an average of 24/7 = 3.4 lengths to collect.

The reasoning is pretty much the same as yesterday – horses being ridden all the way to the line to stay up the Cheltenham hill. Although the handicaps don’t give me much hope of a wide margin winner (especially the Coral Cup) both the bumper and the cross country chase could see a bumper length winner.

Check out all the markets – Star Spreads have all the usual raceday markets including match bets and an array of markets in the Cheltenham Festival Specials section of the web site.
