Tough old job for Arsenal tonight and that’s putting it mildly.

The Gunners have a 3-1 deficit to overturn after the first leg at the Emirates which was a scoreline few people were expecting and frankly given the way Arsenal played that night they don’t really deserve to progress beyond the last 16 phase.

Arsenal are favourites to win the match but the question is whether they can score enough goals (they need to score at least three). After all, Monaco have conceded only two goals in the Champions League this season.

The stats are also against them. No team in Champions League history have ever overturned a two-goal deficit away from home in the second leg.

Arsene Wenger is taking the talk. He said: “We have experience, the desire and belief we can do it. We want to give everything to have the greatest performance on the pitch. No matter how big the percentage (chance) is, we have to give absolutely everything to make the stats lie, that is our desire and belief that we can do it.”
