S.P.Read Esq: Liverpool v Newcastle
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League match tonight between LIVERPOOL v NEWCASTLE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
I wasn’t impressed with Liverpool in their FA Cup replay win against Blackburn when they looked very lacklustre but they may well justify their long odds-on status tonight at Anfield against a Newcastle side who have failed to score in five of their last seven away games.
Add to the mix that Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 19 home league matches against Newcastle and it’s hard to see this going any other way.
It certainly doesn’t look like being a 0-0 either. There have been 41 Premier League meetings between Liverpool and Newcastle which have produced an average of 3.1 goals per match and not a single goalless draw !!
Liverpool’s Jordon Ibe is back after six weeks out with a knee injury but Mario Balotelli (illness) and Adam Lallana (groin) are both likely to miss this.
The home side will also be without Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard who complete bans whilst a hamstring injury rules out Mamadou Sakho.
For Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat is expected to be back after a calf problem but Rolando Aarons and Siem de Jong will miss this after recent injury lay-offs.
