S.P. Read Esq: Arsenal v Liverpool
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Sunday’s Premier League 4pm clash between ARSENAL v LIVERPOOL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
The highlight match of the opening weekend, on paper at least, is the 4pm kick off at the Emirates between Arsenal and Liverpool.
Three of the last four meetings have seen the fixture tied – the latest being an entertaining 3-3 draw at Anfield in January when Joe Allen salvaged a point for Liverpool with his 90th minute equaliser.
Arsenal were 11 points superior to Liverpool last season and will be anxious to get more than a draw. Even at the embryonic stage of the season, any team with serious title aspiration has to make certain of three points from home games.
The slightly unusual quartet grouping of Hull, Swansea, WBA and Man City already have three points on the board and it doesn’t matter that it’s just the opening game there is still ground to be made up.
I’m favouring Arsenal (they have a strong overall record against the Reds, losing just one of their last 10 league and cup meetings) and that’s reinforced by the news that Liverpool are likely to be without Daniel Sturridge and James Milner because of respective hip and heel injuries.

Had a narrow escape in the end yesterday. It looked bleak for my sell of the first Leicester goal at half-time but it came courtesy of a penalty on 47 minutes – exactly the level I sold at for a break even on Star Spreads.
We’ll try the same bet (at 48 today) with the first Arsenal goal.
